Revolutionize Your Designs and Impact the World with Sustainable Innovation
Hello, Filipe!
Recently, we shared on our Instagram a piece of news generating a lot of excitement in sustainable construction.
Today, we will delve deeper into this innovation that promises to change how we deal with noise pollution in cities.
Joe Krcma and the Revolution of Ceramic Bricks
In his latest research project, Joe Krcma has brought a surprising innovation that directly impacts the urban environment: ceramic bricks that incorporate the ancient technique of Helmholtz resonators.
These bricks are not ordinary; they have a unique design that allows them to absorb specific sound frequencies, converting them into heat through resonance.
The science behind these bricks is genuinely fascinating. Each brick is designed with a cavity and a neck that are meticulously calculated to target different sound frequencies.
This makes the bricks adjustable to various tones, allowing them to be used in various urban situations.
Kirma’s idea is that, by integrating these bricks into city structures, we can create highly effective sound barriers, absorbing everyday noises in urban environments, especially those from heavy traffic.
This innovation will undoubtedly be celebrated and shared if you believe in a future with less noise pollution and more harmony in cities!

Planting to Reap: The Story Behind the Casa Guararapes Project
In a recent interview for a prestigious Brazilian newspaper, I talked about one of our most innovative projects: Casa Guararapes.
This project, which has become a landmark in our portfolio, stands out for its innovative approach to civil construction, with more than two thousand simulations involving variables such as land orientation, glass proportions for facades, types of shading, and properties of various materials.
The result was a success that is now widely recognized in the sector. But do you want to know how the project started?
During this interview, I remembered an e-book I wrote in 2016 about sustainability in construction. This material was crucial for the company to find us and start a relationship with us, eventually leading to Casa Guararapes’s development.
This experience reinforced for me the importance of systematization and good relationships.
For you, I want to highlight a valuable lesson: systematization can be a catalyst for achieving remarkable results. The e-book, carefully prepared and made available on the internet, was the key to opening this door of opportunities, as well as others that have already opened and others that will still open.
Often, we all create exceptional works, but without a system to support them, they can get lost in the ether.
Thus, I encourage you to think about how you can systematize your work, whether it’s a project, an idea, or knowledge. This practice ensures that your effort is recognized and valued and opens paths for future opportunities.
